Four-bagger Feast: Ruvalcaba Slugs 3 for Tampa Bay (R) Wednesday, August 9th , 2023 Some days you can't have it all, as Tampa Bay (R) Thunder second baseman Saul Ruvalcaba discovered when he cracked three homers against the Indianapolis (R) Clowns, and still lost. "I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game." The 18-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Clowns walked away with the triumph, 8-7, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Ruvalcaba finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview. Saul Ruvalcaba hit a solo-shot off Jason Frederick in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Edgar Bauza in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Ortiz in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Thus far this year, Ruvalcaba is hitting .257 with 6 home runs, 20 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
