Aztecs Pitching Ravaged by King Friday, June 23rd , 2023 Today at Oil City (R) Grounds, Malachi King put on an impressive display. The Hollywood Stars third baseman tagged San Diego pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the San Diego Aztecs by the score of 7-5. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," King said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Stars manager was unwilling to offer the third baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Malachi told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Lee Norman said. Malachi King singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Fernandez in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th. View Boxscore |
