Paullo Penagate Picked WAC's Best Player Wednesday, September 27th , 2023 When it came to hitting the baseball, Paullo Penagate had few peers in the Western Amateur Circuit this year. The gifted right fielder for Yuma tagged opposing pitchers for a .319 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2023. Included in his season stats were 174 hits, 28 doubles, 5 triples, 28 home runs, 83 runs scored and 87 RBIs. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Gerardo Sanchez of the El Paso Mavericks finished second in voting, while Bobby Stern of the San Diego Aztecs finished third.
