Campos Grabs WAC Reliever of the Year Award Saturday, September 23rd , 2023 At the age of 22, Bill Campos says he still has a lot to learn about life in Amateur Baseball Circuit. But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the El Paso Mavericks reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2023 Western Amateur Circuit Reliever of the Year Award. "I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Bogota, Colombia native said. For the season, Campos had 8 saves in 31 relief appearances, which totaled 85.1. He fanned 79 betters, while walking 35 and put up a record of 7-4 to go with his 1.79 ERA. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 20. Carlos Flores of the Yuma Gnomes finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Shane Carter of the Dallas Bulls finished third.
