Grays End Reyes Streak Wednesday, August 30th , 2023 The Franklin Knights lost to the Providence Grays, 9-3, at Ballpark of Franklin, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Hector Reyes's 20-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Reyes, we would win the game," Grays manager Seigo Yamamoto explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Reyes is hitting .374 this year with 5 home runs and 55 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .423, 31 walks and scored 55 times. |
