Mire Puts Screws to Boston Wednesday, August 16th , 2023 Adrian Mire was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Manchester Monarchs hurler tossed a 6-hit, complete game shutout against the Boston Battalion. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Mire. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Mire walked 0 and struck out 2 in the 5-0 victory. This season, Mire has compiled a 10-8 mark with a 3.44 ERA. View Boxscore |
