Hope Raps 3 HR Against Stars Friday, July 14th , 2023 New Orleans Buccaneers first baseman Justin Hope put on a dazzling display of power at Oil City (R) Grounds against the Hollywood Stars. In the 14-0 Buccaneers victory, Hope penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Hollywood manager Lee Norman said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Hope said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Justin Hope hit a two-run home run off Mario Mejia in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Mario Mejia in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Justin Ganem in the 6th. Looking at his stats this year, Hope has compiled a .305 batting average, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 49 runs. He has played in 74 games and scored 53 runs. |
