Robinson Collects Hit Number 1000 Friday, September 15th , 2023 Frank Robinson started out as a baby-faced rookie many seasons ago. Yesterday at The Thunder Bowl the Tampa Bay veteran joined the league's 1000-hit club. Robinson achieved that milestone with a 2-for-5 day in the Thunder 5-4 win over the Miami Sun Sox. He spoke to reporters in the clubhouse after the game and said, "Looking at the list of all the great players who have done this is humbling. It is a great honor to be among them." In 872 games, Robinson is a lifetime .294 hitter. He has knocked in 558 runs, scored 538 times, hit 169 home runs, walked 355 times and has an on-base percentage of .360.
