Peanuts Lose By a Run at New Orleans
|
The New Orleans Voodoo topped the San Francisco Peanuts, 3-2, the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Danny Falchonelli. On the day, Falchonelli was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Voodoo. New Orleans reliever Gary Birley was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Asvarya Kabir took the loss. Loys Blaesvelt recorded the save for New Orleans, his 1st of the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Luis Perez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the New Orleans shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Voodoo in front, 3-2.
Perez attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
San Francisco, with the loss, is 2-5.
