|
Denver Cutthroats starter Arturo Jones pitched effectively against the New Orleans Voodoo at Cutter's Cove. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 4-3 win. Junro Yano, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-4. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Denver is sitting pretty at 56-27.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Carl Bevly came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New Orleans pitcher Akihisa Shibuya, he hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Denver on top, 4-3.
"We want to make a habit of winning," Jones said after the game.
