Behind a solid performance from first baseman Manny Salcedo, the New Orleans Voodoo defeated the Denver Cutthroats, 5-4. Salcedo went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Voodoo. New Orleans reliever Kevin Little picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ki-tae Jung took the loss. Akihisa Shibuya, who is tied for 8th in the WC in holds with 2, earned the save for New Orleans.
Had Jeremy Goodwin not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Goodwin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Voodoo.
New Orleans manager Jason Tudor commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The win puts New Orleans at 33-49.
