The exploits of designated hitter Tom Higgins, who is tied for 2nd in the WC with a 1.021 OPS, helped the San Francisco Peanuts defeat the Minnesota Loons, 11-2. Higgins went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Shinya Takahashi. He tossed 115 pitches over 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the second. That's when Peanuts left fielder Elijah Hughes hit a fastball from Lawrence Decker for a 2-run single. Just like that, San Francisco was up, 2-1.
