Roadrunners Drop Contest, 7-2, to San Francisco

Tony Gywnn Park was the site for Western Circuit action featuring the San Diego Roadrunners and San Francisco Peanuts.
The San Francisco Peanuts picked up a win at Tony Gywnn Park, dropping the San Diego Roadrunners, 7-2. Asvarya Kabir, who is tied for 10th in the WC in strikeouts with 107, was the difference-maker. Kabir, now 9-4, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
The Peanuts got a big at-bat from right fielder Travis McCombs. For the game, McCombs was 1-5 with a triple. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.
"I loved our energy," said San Francisco manager Keven Berman. "I loved the way we played."
With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 39-24.
