|
Los Angeles got a terrific performance from pitcher Edwin Gomez, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Voodoo. New Orleans won the Camelot contest, 2-1. Gomez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Gary Birley in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Edwin Gomez took the loss. The Voodoo raised their record to 25-38.
John Brown had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put New Orleans up, 2-1.
Brown said his team "played with focus and determination."
