Gothams Earn 4-2 Road Win Over Tampa Bay
|
The New York City Gothams took on the Tampa Bay Thunder at The Thunder Bowl.
The New York City Gothams topped the Tampa Bay Thunder, 4-2, in Eastern Circuit action at The Thunder Bowl. The standout performance belonged to New York City pitcher and Melton, Australia, native Brent Pickford. Pickford yielded 2 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-2.
The Thunder had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Gothams going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old left fielder Josh Harris came to the plate. Harris hit a solo home run on a 2-1 slider from Tampa Bay hurler Jon Kendall. It was Harris's 9th home run of the year.
"Brent did what Brent does," said New York City manager Jacob Sanders.
The 8th-place Gothams now have a win-loss record of 21-23.
