The El Paso Diablos withstood an impressive performance by New Orleans first baseman Manny Salcedo to defeat the Voodoo, 8-4, at Inferno Field. Salcedo went 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Mark Brown got the win, improving to 8-2. He held the Voodoo to 4 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 0. With the win, the Diablos improved to 29-13.

In the bottom of the first, two-time All-Star Jeremy Barnes hit a 2-run home run. The 10th home run of the season for the El Paso third baseman put the Diablos on top, 2-0.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Barnes.
