Denver 3-2 Win Hard-Earned
|
The Denver Cutthroats wiggled past the Dallas Texans, 3-2, at Cutter's Cove. The win was highlighted by the performance of Denver pitcher Heinz Brown. Junro Yano claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 4-3. The Cutthroats sit in second place in the Western Circuit with a record of 26-15.
The game-ending blow was delivered by Chris Elliott in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old right-handed pitcher Fernando Gutierrez to win it for Denver and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Elliott said in his postgame press conference.
