Jason Roether was locked and loaded, helping the El Paso Diablos beat the New Orleans Voodoo, 4-1. The winner was Roether. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Adam Bianco. Their 28-13 record puts the Diablos first in the Western Circuit.
El Paso shortstop Shaun Dunham contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Diablos ahead, 3-0.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Dunham, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
