Thunder Scratch Out 2-1 Win
|
Tampa Bay Thunder starter Sipi Remes was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Boston Shamrocks, 2-1. Tampa Bay reliever Ryan Carden, who is tied for 9th in the EC in holds with 1, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Dave Slaughter took the loss for Boston. With the win, the Thunder have a record of 32-26.
Yeong-kil Koo was 1 for 2 for Tampa Bay. The 28-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off David Guin. It was his 43rd RBI of the season.
"Sipi was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Tampa Bay manager Ray McKay.
