Yeong-kil Koo powered the Tampa Bay Thunder to a win over the Detroit Motors. The final score was 7-5. The Tampa Bay first baseman, who is tied for 4th in the EC with a .960 OPS, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 3 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 2 doubles. Donte Alexander earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 1-1. The 5th-place Thunder improved to 29-25.

It could have been a different outcome for Tampa Bay, had it not been for Adam Seiler, the 23-year old center fielder . Seiler contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Tampa Bay up, 6-5.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Koo. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
