Las Vegas starter Ron Mackowski kept the Minnesota offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his cutter in leading the Aces to a 2-1 win. Justin Goldman earned the save for Las Vegas, his 8th. With the win, Las Vegas has a record of 31-23. Minnesota falls to 23-31.

Las Vegas used a well-timed hit by Rich Perez to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aces ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"The old adage is true," said Mackowski. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
