With right fielder Remie Broers leading the charge, the Indianapolis Clowns defeated the Tampa Bay Thunder, 5-4, at The Thunder Bowl. Broers, who finished 3rd in the EC in wins above replacement with 4.8 in 2020, was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Indianapolis, with the win, is 3-1.

Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Jerry Fleet to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Clowns on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Enjoyed this one," Fleet told the Indianapolis Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
