Bill Alexander made an impact in the 8-5 San Diego win over Los Angeles. Alexander went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. With the win over Los Angeles, the Roadrunners improved to 19-29.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With San Diego trailing 5-4, Alexander jumped on a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dustin Gauci and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the Roadrunners had a walk-off win.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Alexander told reporters after the game.
