The Houston Mavericks had to overcome a big game from Los Angeles designated hitter Manny Silva to leave Camelot with a victory. And they did, winning, 15-8. Silva hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The Mavericks sit in 9th place in the Western Circuit with a record of 15-21.

Houston needed the clutch hitting of Tim Platt to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mavericks on top, 9-6. For the game, Platt had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Platt told a Houston Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
