The Denver Cutthroats and San Francisco Peanuts met at Garibaldi's Grounds to settle a score.
San Francisco starter John O'Connor pitched well against the Denver Cutthroats at Garibaldi's Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. At 17-9, San Francisco is in third place in the Western Circuit.
The Peanuts got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tom Higgins. For the game, Higgins was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Tyler Montgomery.
