New Orleans Pins 4-3 Loss on Mavericks
|
The New Orleans Voodoo did just enough to sneak past the Houston Mavericks, 4-3, at Mavericks Ballpark. New Orleans pitcher Victor Ford, in particular, had a standout performance. Ford yielded 2 runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-4. By defeating Houston, the 9th-place Voodoo improved to 9-13.
New Orleans relied on the hitting of Manny Salcedo to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Voodoo on top, 4-2. For the game, Salcedo had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Victor went out and got the job done," said Voodoo manager Jason Tudor.
