Keystones Pin 4-3 Loss on Atlanta

The Philadelphia Keystones faced a tough opponent in Atlanta pitcher Bryan Mas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Hangar by a final score of 4-3. Mas went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Jon Brandman, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Pilots to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Evan Rich finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
The Pilots had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Keystones going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old shortstop Freddy Martinez came to the plate. Martinez hit a run-scoring triple on a 0-1 sinker from Atlanta hurler Bryan Mas. It was Martinez's 1st triple of the year.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Atlanta manager Terry Farrand.
The Keystones raised their record to 2-0.
