Bluebirds Tack 9-4 Loss on Thunder
|
The Nashville Bluebirds picked up a win at The Thunder Bowl, dropping the Tampa Bay Thunder, 9-4. Matt Primeau was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Primeau, now 2-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. Nashville is now 9-9. Tampa Bay is 6-12.
Menno Zweverink had a big bases-clearing double for the Bluebirds in the top of the fourth inning. With Nashville leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a splitter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dylan Wilson and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bluebirds ahead, 6-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Zweverink. "And not try to do too much."
