Higgins Propels Peanuts to 11-5 Win
The San Francisco Peanuts beat the Dallas Texans by a score of 11-5. San Francisco designated hitter Tom Higgins deserved the lion's share of the credit. Higgins went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Peanuts. John O'Connor got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. The Texans, now 4-10, continue their sluggish start.

Sam Pruitt had a big 2-run home run for the Peanuts in the top of the fourth inning. With San Francisco trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Eddie Cager and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Peanuts ahead, 3-2.
