The El Paso Diablos topped the Los Angeles Knights, 11-0, with designated hitter Aaron Shelby playing a big role. Shelby was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Diablos in the win. Jason Roether went 6.1 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. The right-hander, who finished 3rd in the EC in wins with 13 last year, struck out 7 and walked 3. With the win, he's now 2-1 this season. Hopes are already high for the Diablos this season and wins like this do nothing but raise expectations.

In the bottom of the third, Shelby had one of his most important at-bats: a run-scoring single off Corey Martin that staked the Diablos to a 1-0 lead.
