Warriors End Watts Streak Wednesday, August 17th , 2022 It was the best of both worlds for the Washington (R) Warriors at PBC Rookie Development Complex, as they defeated the Boston (R) Shamrocks, 5-1, and also snapped Howard Watts's 23-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Boston (R) second baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Watts, we just wanted to win the game," said Warriors skipper Marc Walter. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Watts frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." This year, Watts has 7 home runs and a .374 batting average. |
