Billy Fincher Injured, Out for Season Monday, August 15th , 2022 Fort Wayne reliever Billy Fincher could miss the remainder of the season because of a fractured elbow. He exited yesterday's Boston game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Fincher would be out 4-5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." Fincher has compiled an ERA of 5.55 so far this season, winning 2 games with no losses and no saves. In 11 relief appearances he has hurled 35.2 innings, yielded 36 hits and struck out 41. Opposing hitters have batted .254 against Fincher. |
