Season Over for Bernardo Calicchio in Yuma Tuesday, August 9th , 2022 The season is finished for Bernardo Calicchio of the Yuma Gnomes. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Gnomes starting pitcher suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Tulsa Twisters. Team doctors said it would take at least 5-6 months to heal. So far this year, Calicchio has made 18 starts, tossed 60.1 innings, struck out 53 batters and walked 30. His record is 1-5 with a 5.97 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .289 batting average. |
