Buccaneers de Jesus Out Rest Of Season Saturday, July 9th , 2022 New Orleans reliever Jerry de Jesus could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He exited yesterday's San Diego game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said de Jesus would be out 19-20 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." de Jesus has taken the mound for 39 relief appearances this season, nailing down 8 saves while notching a 2-11 record with a 6.22 ERA. The New Orleans reliever has limited opposing batters to a .274 batting average. |
