Ricky Garcia Lost for Season Monday, July 4th , 2022 The doctors have spoken and Ricky Garcia of the Fort Wayne Farmers didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Garcia sustained his season-ending injury during the Manhattan Liberty game yesterday at Farmers Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Fort Wayne medical staff reported Garcia had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. So far this year, Garcia has made 16 relief appearances with 2 saves, thrown 17 innings and struck out 20 with a 0-2 record. |
