It was a glorious year for Leo Canales of the San Francisco Peanuts.

He finished the season with 15 victories and only 4 losses, with an impressive 2.25 ERA. The talented Peanuts pitcher started 22 games and struck out 155 batters in 164.1 innings and won the Professional Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award.

"It means a lot," Canales said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year."

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Brandon Beech of the Philadelphia Keystones finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Mark Black of the Toronto Titans finished third with 1 first place vote.
