Thunder Get One-Run Win at Miami
|
Tampa Bay and Miami put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Tampa Bay Thunder picked up a win at Sun Sox Stadium, knocking off the Miami Sun Sox, 4-3. On the mound for Tampa Bay was right-hander Sipi Remes. He played a key role in the triumph. The Thunder improved their record to 26-32 with the win over Miami.
Tampa Bay needed the clutch hitting of Bob Gibbons to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder on top, 4-1. For the game, Gibbons had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
