The Philadelphia Keystones had to overcome a fine effort from New York City pitcher George Spence to win, 6-4, at Blues Field. Spence went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Philadelphia pitcher Nathaniel Nevels earned the win, hiking his record to 11-4. Ben Russell suffered the loss. Billy Morris was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 19 save opportunities.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the seventh. That's when Keystones designated hitter Alfredo Zamarripa hit a splitter from Ben Russell for a 2-run single. Just like that, Philadelphia was up, 4-3.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Philadelphia manager Corey Anderson.
Philadelphia has run its win streak to 7 consecutive.
