The Chicago Union did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Motors, 5-4, at The Motor Yard. Chicago pitcher Sergio Hernandez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Chicago raised its record to 38-32.

Chicago used the hitting of Matt Hall to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Union on top, 2-0. For the game, Hall had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
