The Dallas Texans dealt the Chicago Union a 5-4 loss at Trident Field. Derrick Paul was the star on offense. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Paul got the win, improving to 3-11. He gave up 2 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Texans improved their record to 23-44 by beating Chicago.
Dallas used a clutch at-bat from Chris Horlen to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Texans ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu. "The effort was great."
