Blues 5-2 Winners Versus San Francisco
|
The exploits of first baseman Kevin Brown, who finished 3rd in the PBC in wins above replacement with 4.3 in 2015, helped the New York City Blues defeat the San Francisco Peanuts, 5-2. Brown was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win puts New York City at 18-28.
With New York City leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Brown hit a fastball from Josh Hunt for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Blues ahead, 3-0.
Said New York City manager Matt Mays: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
