In the 8-4 Tampa Bay win over Boston, the impact of Melvin Zapata was substantial. Zapata, who is tied for 6th in the PBC in triples with 2, went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times. The Thunder improved their record to 13-17 with the win over Boston.
Had Curtis Fowlkes not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Fowlkes hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Thunder.
