Hernandez Gives San Francisco Goose Eggs

Sergio Hernandez of the Chicago Union was on top of his game.
The 28-year-old tantalized the San Francisco Peanuts with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 4-0.
"He had the changeup working," San Francisco manager Keven Berman said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Chicago hurler had 13 strikeouts, gave up 4 walks and surrendered 5 hits in his complete-game effort.
Hernandez told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."
"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
For the year, Hernandez has compiled a 4-3 record with a 3.20 ERA.
