Getting a good performance from shortstop Luis Lopez, the San Francisco Peanuts defeated the Dallas Texans, 7-4. Lopez was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Peanuts. Kevin Schuerger went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits. The right-hander, who finished 2nd in the PBC in innings pitched with 172.0 in 2008, struck out 5 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 2-3 this season. The loss makes Dallas 9-13.
San Francisco used a well-timed hit by Travis McCombs to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Peanuts ahead, 7-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Dallas skipper Jesus Sanchez said.
