Boberg Gone for Season in Boston (R) Tuesday, September 7th , 2021 Kyle Boberg is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Boston (R) organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 7-8 months with shoulder inflammation. The 19-year-old reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Philadelphia (R) Keystones. Boberg has taken the mound for 10 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 6.75 ERA. The Boston (R) reliever has limited opposing batters to a .273 batting average. |
