Boston (R) Shut Out, 5-0, By Motors, Freeman Saturday, August 21st , 2021 The Boston (R) Shamrocks were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Detroit (R) Motors and hurler Jerry Freeman. Freeman kept the Shamrocks confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Freeman," Boston (R) manager Luis Santana said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 18-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Freeman said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." His record for the year is 8-4 in 16 starts and Freeman has a 3.68 ERA. View Boxscore |
