Monster 3-HR Day for Ramos Monday, August 16th , 2021 Chicago (R) Union first baseman Miguel Ramos put on a dazzling display of power at PBC Rookie Development Complex against the Miami (R) Sun Sox. In the 25-5 Union victory, Ramos penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Miami (R) manager John Barnett said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 16-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Ramos said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Miguel Ramos walked in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Andres Gonzalez in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rod Olmedo in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Gilbert Soranzo in the 7th. This season, Ramos is batting .297 with 6 home runs. |
