Sun Sox Chill Gaskill Hot Streak Thursday, August 13th , 2020 The Las Vegas (R) Aces lost to the Miami (R) Sun Sox, 7-6, at PBC Rookie Development Complex, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Brian Gaskill's 20-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Gaskill, we would win the game," Sun Sox manager John Barnett explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." For the season, Gaskill has produced 59 hits in 199 at-bats for a .296 average with 9 home runs and gotten on base at a .350 clip. |
