Star of the Week Selected in WAC Monday, August 30th , 2021 Darius Lewers must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .455 clip, then the Houston left fielder finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the WAC Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Lewers batted .455 (10-for-22) with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. In the 2021 season Lewers is hitting .306 with 9 home runs. |
