Providence Season Won't Continue in Playoffs Friday, August 27th , 2021 It's the better-luck-next-time point of the season for the Providence Grays. The club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today, and will turn their attention to next year's campaign. "You know, the average player doesn't get that many seasons, so every time you're eliminated, it hurts," said Grays starting pitcher Malcolm Willis. Providence last appeared in the postseason in 2018. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 11 times in their 19-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Grays have missed the playoffs 5 times. Providence last won the Amateur Circut Cup in 2016. |
